Faithbook Challenge - Let Your Light Shine

Matthew 5:16 - “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

There are so many women who make a difference in my life with their good examples. What a blessing these people are to me in my life. Blessings will come to others and our faith in Jesus Christ will grow when we let our lights shine.

Jesus Christ taught those who followed Him that they were “the light of the world.” He said that you don’t light candles and put them under baskets. When you light a candle, you put it on a candlestick so that it gives light to everyone in the room. He told us, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (see Matt. 5:16)

This weeks challenge is to use this scripture on a layout of your choice.

I made this layout to celebrate my daughter becoming a teen.
The journaling reads:

Kimberly, How can you let your light shine? One way is by keeping the commandments and choosing the right. When you are honest, kind, dress modestly when you keep the Sabbath holy, you are letting our light shine. Also by obeying the Word of Wisdom, when we use the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reverently, shows your faith and lets your inner beauty shine. Each small light makes a big difference! Love Mom

Have a great week! I can’t wait to see the layouts you post for this challenge. Also, thank you to everyone who let their light so shine in sharing all your amazing talent with us for the DT search. Great things are happening!

Friends Challenge Winner

Congratulations to Monique, "Eressea" for winning this weeks layout challenge! She is one of our members from the Netherlands and is a GREAT inspiration to the community!

She says: The journaling on my page is Dutch, it is a verse from the bible, which is a bit different in English... The NAV comes most close to it I guess, but I also made my own translation. You may choose:

True Friend
"Who looks after a friend in need, shows his respect to the Almighty."

Job 6:14, my own translation from Dutch

or

"For the despairing man there should be kindness from his friend; so that he does not forsake the fear of the Almighty."

Job 6:14, New American Standard version.

Monique designed these papers herself and you can find them at buzybeescrapper - Rainbow Color Papers) by

Faithbook Challenge - Friends

Ecclesiastes 4:10 - If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Three Best Friends started this Faith Sisters Ministry. So many new friends have joined and it is truly a blessing to every single one of us! The Faith Sisters Forum has become a wonderful community of friendship, fellowship and encouragement!

It seems only fitting that this weeks challenge be about your friends!

God's way is not one of total independence from others. It is a way of interdependence--of close relationships and of working together as a well-trained team to accomplish the goals He sets before us. All of us need to actively seek, develop and maintain friendships from a godly perspective and motive. We will be better people as a result.

Friends should assist and strengthen each other by helping each other grow and improve (Proverbs 27:17). People simply do much better by working together. Two really are better than one (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).

Some believe that to be a friend to someone one should never stand up to or disagree with him. But there are times when a true friend needs to tell his brother where he is wrong. "Faithful are the wounds of a friend. But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (Proverbs 27:6).

Celebrate your friendships! See the concordance for Friendship Scriptures.

If you haven't already joined the Faith Sisters Forum we invite you to join us and make some new Friends! We would love to have you!

Celebrate You Challege Winner

I wish I were more humble... to see what he sees. To want what He wants.

Our challenge winner this week is Krystal! She has done an amazing layout that we just love!

Journaling Reads:

God. He’s the ultimate photographer and photo developer. He doesn’t just see the hair, the freckles, and the smile. He doesn’t even just see the things I do. He sees me for who I really am. And he loves me enough to send me challenges and opportunities to grow and to become the work of art that He envisions. I wish I could see what He sees. I wish I could remember to always keep the big picture. I wish I were more like Him.

Your support gives me strength

I have been so humbled today. I have had struggles in my past and the choices I have made. I am not a perfect Christian and I know there are no perfect people but I had reservations about if I truly could follow this dream. I have been blessed in countless ways from having Michelle and Karma a part of my life. We have been through so much together, they know my secrets and weaknesses, they have helped me become a better person. For years we have talked about our dream of sharing faithbooking and bringing it more main stream in the scrapbooking industry. But there was a fear inside of me holding me back…a fear of not being a good enough example and a fear of sharing my true feelings. That people would be judging me or criticizing my beliefs.

We made up our minds to get this started to make it happen not waiting any longer for a perfect plan (which I often do) We started and it has been so rewarding. The stories and people we have already connected to have touched my heart so much. They have humbled me and I can not tell you how much this support means to me. In just three short weeks my testimony has been strengthened so much. I truly have found inner strength in your messages. I know that God did not give us the spirit of fear. That fear is coming from the adversary. The Lord has blessed my life with great friends, women who have been such great example to me in my life, the power of prayer, and a love for the gospel.

Thank you for your support and for sharing your thoughts, prayers and supporting us!

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of sound mind. -2 TIMOTHY 1:7

Picture Your Faith

Hello Faith Sisters!

As scrapbookers I know you take photos. I wanted to share a PHOTO challenge with you today. The goal of Picture Your Faith is to tell stories of faith through pictures; take a photo of something that describes your faith. This can be anything, many things or what you are feeling this day. Faith is the source of testimony.

Take the time to look…stop seeking out the storms in life and enjoy more sunshine. Find the joy and accentuate the positive. There is so much beauty and good sometimes we just need to look a little deeper. Try looking through the lense and capture your Faith in a photo. Please share your photos in the gallery, post it on the forum or link it to the comments here on the blog.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Faithbook Challenge - Celebrate YOU!

Psalm 139:13-17 “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable!”

You will find that meditating and praying on these topics will draw you closer to God and increase your appreciation for his gifts! I always start my Faithbooking with prayer.

Celebrate You! Find some pictures of yourself to put in your scrapbook. You might also want to gather or take pictures of some things that reflect your personality, interests, hobbies, etc.

Psalm 139:13-14 tells us that God knew us before we were born. He knit us together in our mother's womb and we are wonderfully made. You are very special to God. You have been given unique talents, qualities and gifts. God has created each of us to be unique. We look different, we think different and we have our own different dreams, passions, hurts and sorrows. What makes you unique? What do you like about yourself? Why do you think God made you the way you are? Include in your journaling the different roles that you have.

Take some time to think of the different stages of your life and the experiences that you have had, both good and bad. What events have shaped you into the person that you are today? List 4 or 5 events that have had a profound effect on you.

Children the Richest of all Earthly Joys Challenge Winner

Children, the Richest of all Earthly Joys Challenge Winner is... Judy!

Judy says: These photos are of my friend's grandson [taken by an aunt] and when I saw them I couldn't resist scrapping them. He's really such a cutie!

Used this scripture, "And Jesus said, 'I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. " Matthew 18:3 [NIV] and the embellishment is from flair, "Walk by faith. not by sight."

Faithbooking Challenge - Children the Richest of all Earthly Joys

“Children” we are told, “are a heritage of the Lord;” they are also, the Psalmist tell us, “his reward.” [Psalm 127:3.]

We should cherish our children, bring them up in the gospel, and teach them virtue, love, and integrity.

This challenge is to record your love of your children. I realize that not all scrapbookers are parents but you can still record your thoughts about how your parents raised you.

The richest of all my earthly joys is in my precious children. I am so blessed to be the mother of four children. I know that my most important job l will ever do is raising my family-I look around me, and see my boys and my sweet daughter whom the Lord has given me, and I will only succeeded, with His help. Within my children I have reached the treasure of my life, they make every moment worth living.

No one can advise my children with more a sincere desire for their happiness and salvation than I can myself. Nobody has more interest in the welfare of my own children than I besides the Lord. I cannot be satisfied without them. They are part of me. They are mine; God has given them to me and I want them to be humble and know the teachings of the gospel.

“As arrows are in the hand of mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them.” [Psalm 127:4-5]

-We are a Christian people, we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I know it is my duty to acknowledge and teach my children that he is our Savior and Redeemer.

-Some key words or thoughts you could add to your layout is how you want to teach your children the importance of these values in their lives:

-Respect your neighbors and church leaders

-Respect old age, gray hair, and feeble frames.

-To honor themselves and honor the principles of gospel

-To honor their teachers, the law of God, the law of state and law of country.

-You can create a layout about what you are doing in your home to train your children; what you do to enlighten them?

Ponder this:

•How are the children who are entrusted to our care a “heritage of the Lord” and “his reward”? (Psalm 127:3) What divine blessings do children bring “that make for the prosperity of the home and nation”?
•Why must parents teach their children to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? What other gospel principles do you think children should be taught (or what were you taught as a child)? How do you teach these?
•What are “God’s ways of educating” and directing His children? How do you follow His example in your own family?
•How can children be taught to strive for worthwhile goals through “patience and labor”?

My hope that this challenge will help you create something that will be a legacy of your faith for your children and future generations. So they will always know your true love and desire for their happiness and salvation.

All my best,
Sunny~
