A Place of Worship Challenge

Download this scripture art for your paper and digital scrapbook pages in our gallery.

Calvary Memorial Layout by Michelle McVaney

This is an easy challenge! Photograph your place of worship (church, or other place of worship that has significance to you.)

Some photos you might want to consider:
*The building from different angles
*Close ups of special features of the building (exp: windows, steeple, sign)
*Inside the building (exp: altar, pulpit, musical instruments, hymnal, Sunday School Books, pews, classrooms, nursery, special features inside the building)

Once you have all of your pictures you will be ready to create a layout about your place of worship.

Be sure to include the name and location.

Scriptures you might want to include:
Psalm 122:1 "Let us go to the house of the Lord."

Psalm 26:8 "I love the house where you live, O LORD , the place where your glory dwells."

Psalm 27:4 "One thing I ask of the LORD , this is what I seek:that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."

Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

1 Peter 2:5 "You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. "

Our Family Weekday Schedule

This is an update to last weeks challenge. I have been several weeks without internet or a home computer. It is great to be back online and read what has been happening in the lives of the other women in our Faith Sisters forums. A big thank you to Karma who has given so much of her time and talents to make this site grow so fast! I hope that you will be inspired from the challenges and our great gallery. Please comment and post your work in our gallery we would love to know how you feel about the challenges.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven

This became a very special scripture in my life years ago when my husband was working out of town all week and I had four small children and struggled with the hardships of the responsibilities and stress. This scripture touched my soul because I found strength to see that life does change very fast and to try each day to find the everyday blessings.

Now my life has changed so much from the days of diapers and babies. For the first time in my fifteen year marriage my husband has a local job where he is home every night. I now work full time and we have a teen and tweens. Running here and there. I remember the days when I would not leave the house for days because I had sick babies…now I long for evenings when we are not going so many directions. Through all this we are so blessed and love each day together. I know this will go as fast as the toddler years and want to do your best to help our children learn of the gospel and how much our Savior loves them.

Life is good, enjoy everyday and season in your life.
Sunny~

Journaling:
(Today...)

The Lord painted a beautiful sunrise for me as I read my morning devotions.

My sister stopped by with Starbucks just because I was on her mind
I went out and bought an electric sweeper vacuum thingy. The kids sure like it!

I will gladly do the sink full of dishes without complaining or murmuring because I am thankful for the friends we shared dinner with.

Was science experiment day with the Magana’s. We learned a brief history of science and the effect of a chemical reaction..

The leaves are turning a lovely shade of red. I love Fall!

The business phone rang nonstop! And we hired another plumber!!

We took a silly ‘self portrait’ and laughed our butts off doing it.

Today was a perfect day!

The "My Testimony" Challenge Winner!

This weeks winner Marilee, is a great lady with a great testimony. She is so fun in our community forums and is always there to lend prayers and advice.

To learn more about here, click here. To see her projects, click here.

Journaling Reads:

When I was 5 or 6 years old, I told my parents I wanted to ask Jesus into my heart. so, kneeling at our couch (which had a flowered slip cover...a vivid memory to me of that event), I asked Jesus into my heart. I really remember nothing else of that "life-changing" event. BUT...I know that because of that moment in my life, I will live in heaven with Jesus forever when it is time for me to leave this earth.

I have led a "good life"---never had a time in my life when I turned away from God. Yet, there were times in my life when I felt like I had no "great testimony" of "when I became a Christian". God didn't save me from a "great sinful life". BUT...He did save me. Who knows what would have become of me if I hadn't received Jesus at a young age.

I have gone through many trials and there were times when I felt far from God. But, He never moved---HE was always there! I am very thankful that I have not turned away from Him. I am amazed that having lived 50 years as a Christian, there is always something new to learn from God! I am always growing!

God is SO GOOD!
What A Friend I Have in Jesus!
Jesus Loves ME!

"Trust in the Lord with all my heart..." Prov. 3:5

UNDER THE PICTURE:
When my dad was the pastor of his first church in Beaver, OR, I realized my need for a Savior. This picture was taken sometime during the three years we lived in Beaver. It was on this couch that I asked Jesus into my heart. In this picture, I think I was about four years old. I was saved at five or six years old.

My Testimony

You can download your own copy of this verse in our gallery for your digital and paper layouts!

Your personal testimony will be one of the most powerful pages in your faithbook. These will be powerful pages for you but most importantly the people who flip through your faithbook. I can honestly say that everyone who looks through my faithbook takes the time to read the two pages of journaling about my personal testimony. Some people have a vivid memory of exactly when they accepted the Lord into their life and others grew up going to church and don't really remember the exact moment because they kinda always had that relationship with the Lord. Either way....share your story!

Things to consider sharing:
*What was your life like before you made a faith commitment?
*How old were you?
*Was it a slow, gradual process or did you have a defining moment (or a little of both)?
*What got you interested in your particular faith?
*What convinced you?
*Were there people who influenced you in this decision? How so and in what ways?
*Was there a defining moment of commitment? (a special prayer, ceremony, decision in your heart, or ?)
*How did you feel right before you made the commitment?
*How did you feel after?

Your personal testimony page will mainly be a journaling page. Most of us probably don't have pictures from this event but you may want to consider including photos of you at the age when your conversion took place, photos of influential people, or photos of the location where you had a "defining moment."

My personal testimony page is two pages. I have a border on the left side of the left page and the right side of the right page. The rest is journaling about my personal testimony.

I recommend handwriting your personal testimony journaling. This is a very special topic and deserves the personal touch of your very own handwriting whether or not you think your handwriting is terrible! If you have way too much journaling to fit into two pages then do computer journaling...but at least use a handwriting font to make it look more personal.

You can see all of the Testimony Challenge pages in our gallery along with their write ups.

World Card Making Day Challenge

1 John 4:11
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Today is World Card Making day!

Creating a handmade card brings a special kind of joy. There’s joy in the process of creating, as well as in giving and receiving handmade cards.

Handmade cards are:
GIFTS. It is a little sliver of energy, time, and love that says, "I really care about you" in a world of impersonal communications such as e-mails.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS.
Beneath the cardstock and embellishments is emotion from the card maker--encouragement, celebration, commemoration, and love.

KEEPSAKES.
Instead of being thrown away, they are cherished and displayed

RELATIONSHIP BUILDERS.
They spark deep connections, express feelings, evoke laughter, and warm the hearts of friends, relatives, and co-workers.

You can find out more about World Card Making Day at: http://www.worldcardmakingday.com

Your challenge is to make some meaningful cards this week and send them out to people your care about, also try sending a card to your church leaders or someone in your Sunday School class who may need an extra pick me up!

See more cards in our Inspiration Gallery and share yours today!
