His Creations, Challenge

The old saying, One is closest to God in the garden, rings true for me these summer days while I work in my garden. I never cease to be amazed at how miraculous it is to see a little seed turn into a beautiful flower. How amazing is it that such yummy vegetables can come from this straggly vine popping up out of the dirt. Gardening certainly draws me closer to our Heavenly Father as I relish in his creation!

We see God's fingerprints each and every day of our lives. From the beauty of nature, the miracle of birth, and the blessings in our lives. God beautifully created everything in our world to bring glory to Himself and to bless His children.

This week's challenge is to create a layout about one of your favorite parts of His creation. Since He created everything...you have lots of choices!

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God.
Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it.
Who did not create it in vain. Who formed it to be inhabited
I am the Lord and there is no other. ~Isaiah 45:18

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. ~Jeremiah 51:15

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ~John 1:1-3

Blessings,
Michelle

Journaling Reads:
This stronghold has been holding strong to me for years. Yes, it comes and goes, but right now it's a doozey! Satan's common lie tells me I don't know what to do when things get this bad, but God showed me I just need to call on Him. I know most of this battle is against my SELF... so from now on I'm gonna fight and say, "So long self, it's been fun but I've found somebody else. So long self, there's now room for two, so you're gonna have to move. So long self... you're wrong for me... I want more in life than this... just go away... so long self!" - Mercy Me

Scripture: On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul. Psalm 138:3

Scripture Challenge {Week 30}

As I put these challenges together each week, I can see how so many of them intertwine. Can you see how it is all coming together each week? Reading His Word, praying, obeying, listening, glorifying, living, trusting, waiting, etc. It is just amazing how it all comes together. God is good; His true Word is good!

Now onto this week with a fun fingerplay:
“O is for obey.
O is for obey.
Obey is doing what you should.
O is for obey.”

Week 30 Challenge Word: Obey

That precious little fingerplay is another fun thing we do with the children at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). God wants us to obey His Word in each and every stage of our lives. We are to obey Him completely and in all circumstances. His commands are there for our benefit and to protect us because He loves us; not to be restrictive. And we may not always understand God’s reasoning for something. He has the big picture; we don’t. We are only to obey and then we can enjoy His blessing.

A truth I learned at BSF this year was: “Attitudes as well as actions are part of obedience. God desires our inner obedience as well as our outer obedience.” We are to obey with our hearts. And when we obey, we glorify God. How wonderful is that? Think of people in the Bible and how they obeyed. Think of Noah, Moses, Mary and Joseph, etc. The list could go on and on. And how about those that disobeyed. Think of the Israelites. What was the result?

Which of God’s commands do you obey? Which are the ones that you struggle with? What about your children? Are you teaching them to obey and respect you? If they don’t obey and respect you, how can you expect them to obey and respect the Lord? Are you obeying God’s Word and glorifying Him or are you satisfying your human desires instead?

For my card this week, I used some Pink Paislee and Creative Café scraps. I also used a Unity Stamp on the back. Too fun! The verses I chose were:

1 John 3:24 “Those who obey His commands live in Him and He in them."
1 John 5:3 “This is love for God: to obey His commands, and His commands are not burdensome.”
I pray that you will go out this week and live a life of obedience to God. Obey and glorify Him. Then enjoy the blessings that result from it! And be sure to join us here for discussions and links to your cards and pages. Blessings to each of you!
