Resolved Challenge

Create a layout or piece of art that can be displayed to remind you of your New Years Resolutions. Make this new year a fresh start with a reminder of the resolutions so that you can keep them and make them a part of your daily life!

People all over the world use the fresh start of the New Year to set goals from losing weight, spending more time with family, or getting out of debt. All of the before mentioned resolutions are good, but I also want to encourage you to make some "spiritual" resolutions. Here is a list of just a few resolutions to help strengthen one's walk with God.

  • Pray! Prayer is one of the most important part of a Christians Life. Prayer is what builds your relationship with the Lord. Resolve to pray more often to God, talk to him daily and throughout the day.
  • Read your bible daily. If you already read your Bible daily, resolve to increase how much time you spend in God's Word.
  • Study. Resolve to study the bible daily. Resolve to not only read God's Word, but to truly study the Bible.
  • Spend time with family doing spiritual things. Pray together, read together, and study together.
  • Be an encourager. Resolve to be the one who encourages others rather than the one that discourages others.
  • Be A Light. Resolve to be a shining light in this world. Live your life in such a way that people notice you are different from the world.
  • Step out of your comfort zone. Resolve to take advantage of opportunities to help someone or share God's Word with someone.

The ultimate goal of any resolution is to make a permanent lifestyle change. Sadly, so many resolutions fall through the cracks within only a few weeks of the New Year. When you make this layout you can display it somewhere that you can see it daily and remember the things that you have resolved to do!

Proverb 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”

Proverbs 21:3 LB “The Lord is more pleased when we do what is just and right than when we give Him sacrifices.”

Proverbs 22:1 LB “Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold.”

Psalm 119:165 NIV “Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”

Nehemiah 12:27 “…to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgiving, and with singing…”

Proverbs 18:15 LB “Intelligent people are always open to new ideas. In fact, they look for them.”

Proverbs 19:20 LB “Get all the advice and instruction you can, and be wise the rest of your life.”

Isaiah 28:10 “For precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

Psalm 65:11 LB “You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.”

II Corinthians 5:17 NIV “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
