Scripture Challenge {Week 20}

Week 20 Challenge Word: Creator

This week, I want us to look at God as Creator. The very first verse in the Bible tells us that God is Creator! Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” His creation reveals that there is a Creator. God clearly reveals Himself through all of His creation. Look at His amazing work in us. If you missed my post about Laminin and the God Tube video, now would be the perfect time for you to view it. Even in the smallest of details, He created us. We are created for eternal fellowship with Him. We are created to worship Him. In Him, we are a new creation in Christ. And what about His creation around us? Doesn’t looking at the intricate details of a flower just amaze you? How about the beauty of a sunrise or sunset? What relaxes you or brings you joy if you are stressed or sad? How about His creation? Does it bring you peace? I know it does for me. I love hearing the ocean waves or the birds early in the morning or seeing the rays of sun come through the clouds. What a gift He has created and given us to see, to hear, to enjoy! My challenge to you this week is to look around you! Enjoy what He has created. Thank Him. Praise Him. Share Him.

For my card this week, of course there were once again many wonderful verses. My two favorites that I used on my card were:

Isaiah 40:28aDo you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.”

Colossians 1:16For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities all things were created by Him and for Him.
He is the Creator and nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17). And this morning after I had written this post, I got an e-mail devotional from Zondervan titled “Created.” Hmmm, I think that was a bit of confirmation that we are to be looking at Creator this week. Anyway, I actually laughed out loud. God is so amazing. He also wanted me to share the devotional with you because I am sure some of you will find this very interesting. This comes directly from the Zondervan Daily Inspiration I received this today. It says,

Astronomers Fred Hoyle and N. C. Wickramasinghe found that the odds of the random formation of a single enzyme from amino acids anywhere on our planet's surface are one in 1020. Furthermore, they observe, "The trouble is that there are about two thousand enzymes and the chance of obtaining them all in a random trial is only one part in (1020)20,000 = 1040,000 , an outrageously small probability that could not be faced even if the whole universe consisted of organic soup." And this is just one step in the formation of life. Nothing has yet been said about DNA and where it came from, or of the transcription of DNA to RNA, which scientists admit cannot even be numerically computed. (Genesis 1:1-27).”

Pretty interesting! Also, I wanted to let you know, if you use Bible Gateway to help with your studies, there are several words that might help you this week as you study. Some words I looked up were: creator, create, created, maker, make, etc. I hope that helps. And be sure to join us at here for discussions and wonderful gallery additions. Have a great week, and enjoy drinking in His creation!
