Scripture Challenge {Week 30}

As I put these challenges together each week, I can see how so many of them intertwine. Can you see how it is all coming together each week? Reading His Word, praying, obeying, listening, glorifying, living, trusting, waiting, etc. It is just amazing how it all comes together. God is good; His true Word is good!

Now onto this week with a fun fingerplay:
“O is for obey.
O is for obey.
Obey is doing what you should.
O is for obey.”

Week 30 Challenge Word: Obey

That precious little fingerplay is another fun thing we do with the children at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). God wants us to obey His Word in each and every stage of our lives. We are to obey Him completely and in all circumstances. His commands are there for our benefit and to protect us because He loves us; not to be restrictive. And we may not always understand God’s reasoning for something. He has the big picture; we don’t. We are only to obey and then we can enjoy His blessing.

A truth I learned at BSF this year was: “Attitudes as well as actions are part of obedience. God desires our inner obedience as well as our outer obedience.” We are to obey with our hearts. And when we obey, we glorify God. How wonderful is that? Think of people in the Bible and how they obeyed. Think of Noah, Moses, Mary and Joseph, etc. The list could go on and on. And how about those that disobeyed. Think of the Israelites. What was the result?

Which of God’s commands do you obey? Which are the ones that you struggle with? What about your children? Are you teaching them to obey and respect you? If they don’t obey and respect you, how can you expect them to obey and respect the Lord? Are you obeying God’s Word and glorifying Him or are you satisfying your human desires instead?

For my card this week, I used some Pink Paislee and Creative Café scraps. I also used a Unity Stamp on the back. Too fun! The verses I chose were:

1 John 3:24 “Those who obey His commands live in Him and He in them."
1 John 5:3 “This is love for God: to obey His commands, and His commands are not burdensome.”
I pray that you will go out this week and live a life of obedience to God. Obey and glorify Him. Then enjoy the blessings that result from it! And be sure to join us here for discussions and links to your cards and pages. Blessings to each of you!
