We are pleased to present our Celebrity Scrapbooking Guest, Jennifer McGuire. Jennifer writes for Creating Keepsakes Magazine and designs for Hero Arts Rubber Stamps!
Jennifer, can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Jennifer McGuire and I live in Cincinnati with my awesome husband (Ken), fabulous step-daughters (Kay -13 and Audrey -11) and son (Colin - almost 3). I used to be an engineer, but quit to work in the scrapbooking industry. After working with many companies, I know focus mostly on my monthly article with Creating Keepsakes and my design position with Hero Arts Rubber Stamps. I feel so blessed to work with both.
What are some of the life lessons that scrapbooking has taught you?
One big thing that scrapbooking has brought out in me is my desire to share more. I love to share ideas, supplies, my faith, my struggles and more - it is a great industry to do so! I also have learned how wonderful friendships can be despite being miles apart. Many of the people I have met in this industry live faraway, but we are very close in our hearts. I love that.
Are you a paper scrapper, a digital scrapper or both?
I am almost entirely paper scrapper. I like to play in the digital world, but am not very good at it. :) Someday...
Can you share a favorite scrapping tip with our Faith Sisters?
My favorite tip - that is tough! Hmm... I would recommend checking out all the crafting blogs and videos out there. It is a great way to find inspiration easily and quickly.
How do you find time for your scrapbooking hobby?
I just have to make time. I scrap when my son naps and also go to scrapbooking retreats with friends as often as possible. It is a great way to reconnect and get away.
What is your favorite scripture verse?
Daniel 12:3 (New International Version)... Those who are wise [will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
What is your favorite Christian Song?
Faith Like a Child by Jars of Clay
Have you ever faithbooked?
Yes! I love sharing my faith in my pages - it is a good way to be express how thankful I am for my life and share with others how God is good. Here is an example of my Faith Board, I made it for my 14 year old step daughter. I remember at that age that I never felt pretty and I was so insecure. I wanted something to remind her that beauty is on inside and God loves her.
This is something for her to hang on her wall. There are buttons to tuck photos behind...
