My Lifetime Story Challenge 3: My Family Tree

Family History is very important to us. I am the family historian, and I am very passionate about making sure that future generations can all connect through my scrapbooks. As John Steinbeck said, "How will our children know who they are if they don’t know where they come from?" As you read through the bible you can also see that names are important to God because each individual is important to Him. God used the recording of David's family tree to bring about amazing fruit in the Prayer of Jabez. Imagine what God might do with this "My Lifetime Story" album you are creating now!

This week, create your family tree. As you complete your family tree you feel such respect for your ancestors. Please share with us how this challenge made you feel.

Who do you include in your family tree? You, your parents, your grandparents & great grandparents.

I did not have photos of all my great grandparents so I listed their names. For this project I scanned and printed the photos to the same size. Here are a few more tips when working with old family photos. Carefully remove photos with UNDO and dental floss. Scan and print duplicates of heritage photos to preserve and to share the originals. Once you have scanned old photos upload to a photo website or burn to disc for future projects.

Details you may want to include about each family member are:
Their full given name (always use the maiden name for women)
Born:
Place:
Married:
Place:
Died:
Place:

I did not include all information on this layout (such as where born, married, death) because I will include these details on each of the layouts I complete about them as individuals in upcoming challenges.

Other layouts can include:
A layout about shared family traits.
A layout that shows your favorite treasured heritage photos, share the stories to keep them alive

Be sure to follow this challenge in our forum and post your page in our gallery under the appropriate category! If you are a digital scrapbooker, be sure to find some great products in our shop to help you with your project!
