JOURNALING:
Michael & I planned a trip to Arizona to visit Jim in August. I hadn’t seen him since March so I was anxiously counting the days til I could see him again. Unfortunately the week before we were supposed to leave I came down with the swine flu. Initially I thought I would be all better and able to go, but unfortunately my fever kept spiking and I didn’t want to take the chance of infecting everyone. Michael had to go because we had scheduled an appointment with the wedding rehearsal site. So I stayed home…alone…crying and having a major pity party. I had looked forward to seeing Jim for soooooooo long and was soooooooooo sad that I missed out seeing him. But God is good and we all rearranged our schedules so we could plan on visiting him in a few weeks. And it actually worked out better because Meg was able to visit as well and we could both attend Cassie’s wedding shower.

When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place. C.S. Lewis
