Providence 365, Week 19

I read this blog post a while back, Wrestling with an Angel: 18 Years of The Providence of God, and I knew that I wanted to share it here.  This is a father who knows more than most the truth of these words from Jeremiah:

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity to  give you a future and a hope.  

It is easy to blithely quote Scripture about Providence when our lives haven't been tried too terribly.  And, frankly, my life hasn't been.  It is another thing to hear it from the pen of someone for whom the Providence of God has been a daily, even hourly, truth on which to cling.
My prayer is that Scripture will sink deep into my soul, so when the trials do come (and they will come, as our LORD himself told us), my faith will steady me in the storm.  My prayer is that I will say, "God is good.  All the time."
